Deven Sideroff has signed his first NHL contract.
The Kamloops Blazers’ forward agreed to a three year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday.
The deal comes with an annual-average salary of $925,000 at the NHL level and $70,000 at the American Hockey League level. Sideroff would earn $667,500, in addition to bonuses, if he played for the Ducks in 2016-2017.
The 19-year-old product of Summerland was drafted by the Ducks in the third round, 84th overall, of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He played 63 games for the Blazers in 2015-2016, totalling career highs in goals (19), assists (40) and points (59).
Sideroff had three assists in Kamloops’ seven-game playoff series against the Kelowna Rockets and went on to play a single contest for the San Diego Gulls, the Ducks’ AHL affiliate.
Sideroff is currently with Team Canada at the national team’s World Junior Summer Showcase.
