The Kamloops Minor Hockey Association is set to bring a star-studded lineup to the 10th annual Kamloops Coaches Conference later this month.
The three-day conference runs from July 15 to July 17 at Sandman Centre, home of the Kamloops Blazers.
Blazers’ head coach Don Hay will be joined by a who’s who of National Hockey League coaches, including St. Louis Blues’ bench boss, and former Blazers’ coach, Ken Hitchcock. Barry Trotz, the Washington Capitals’ head coach and 2016 Jack Adams Award winner as the NHL’s best coach, Los Angeles Kings’ goaltending coach Bill Ranford and St. Louis Blues’ assistant coach Ray Bennett will round out the weekend’s NHL contingent.
Ryan Huska, head coach of the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat, Kimmo Oikarinen, general manager of the Finish Ice Hockey Association’s under-17, U18 and U20 teams, Terry Bangen, assistant coach of the Blazers, Corey McNabb, director of player development for Hockey Canada, Serge Lajoie, head coach of the University of Alberta Golden Bears, Dan De Palma, goaltending coach of the Blazers, and Greg Kozoris, strength and conditioning coach of the Blazers, will also be guests at the conference.
Saturday, the conference will include on-ice presentations at the McArthur Island Sport and Event Centre.
The cost of the conference is $325, but is only $125 for Kamloops-based coaches. The fee includes presentations, a conference gift, Friday night dinner, continental-style breakfasts and lunch and dinner on Saturday.
